Under the Windmills - Part I

Have you wondering how do you visit the above windmills in Netherlands as the first time traveler? Eventually, we bought our tickets to Zaanse Schans trip in the local tour operators. It was half day trip that departs from Amsterdam Central including Zaanse Schans windmills, Volendam, Marken and a Cheese Factory.

There will be 45-minute stop in Volendam for break but before that you will visit a cheese factory and watch a demonstration of how cheese is made. Here the fishing village of Volendam and  see old fishing boats and locals wearing colorful traditional dresses. Then, take a 20-minute boat ride to Marken. Spend some time exploring this traditional fishing town that was once an island and admire the old wooden houses built on stilts to protect them from flooding.
