Too Cool for School
My first ever trip with my schoolmates and we decided to go a short road trip. Took few research and we got our itinerary and travel bag ready to depart. Therefore, we decided to leave KL at 7.00 a.m. to Ipoh. Ipoh is the capital city of Perak state and took approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to arrived. In the meantime, we do have a rest stop along the North-South Expressway for sure.

On the above, we first to fill up the
stomach with Ipoh famous dim sum. We selected to go Ming Court Hong Kong
Dim Sum and overall breakfast we had are good except the huge crowd in the weekend
morning. Local elderly prefer to eat here compare to the others famous
dim sum restaurants that nearby due to the concept generally targeted to
tourists and mark up the prices.

Following with, we explore to the top attraction in Ipoh - the Ipoh Railway Station. With the bright sunlight shine on the exterior of the building, it turns the railway station look attractive. It become one of the iconic sightseeing in Ipoh compare to other attraction likes Kellie Castle, temples and caves that shouldn't be missed.

Other than that, we visited the 'Concubine Lane' that famous along Ipoh visitation list and all around you will able to see those wall painting as below. It will be pack during holidays and advisable to wear lose shirt in the hot weather.

Next, the tea time at 3.15p.m. where we have our main objective to visit Ipoh cafe. Nowadays, cafe are growing one by one not only in Kuala Lumpur but even in Ipoh town. There are almost 50 cafe around the Ipoh. We visited two news cafe shops within few minutes - Nam Heong Food Court and Chang Jiang White Coffee (Signature Outlet).
Just a brief to Nam Heong Food Court due to the bad services experience and majority of the foods are sold out. Nevertheless, not all cafe are the same services are bad and we quite delight with the next stop which are pictures below. The usual meal for Chinese cafe was the steam/ roasted bread with a match of coffee where Chang Jiang offers taste impressive.

Soon the weather turn cloudy and started to rain heavily. We waited the rain to stop and continue our itinerary - to visit Ipoh Parade (Local Shopping Mall) and Onn Kee Restaurant. Local will recommend and prefer Onn Kee Restaurant that serve the tasteful chicken rice and noodles compare to other chicken rice shop that you might heard of.

Secretly to tell you the reason of my selection to stay in ibis Hotel was there are few stores nearby that we shouldn't miss on their local foods within few steps from the hotel.
Firstly, the town that famous with coffee have been served well in the Impressive Restaurant, Little Genting. It a food court which enable to get variety of the local foods and drinks. We got ourselves the roti canai at only RM 1.50 and kaya puff with Kopi 'O' Ice. Their ice coffee was the surprisingly goods taste that we couldn't have in KL. Yet, the reason of the restaurant are pack during morning hour and closed at late night.

Secondly, the Chinese style desserts named 'Tau Fu Fa - Beancurd'. I could check it out whether the store open for a try from my room exactly. The reason being was the store only open from 1.00 p.m. It time for check-out. Let's introduce the various of beancurd toppings offers are as follows:
- Original
- Peanut Black Sesame
- Red Bean
- Pumpkin Mochi (Seasonal with only offer in festival)
- Chrysanthemum (Seasonal with only weekend available)
- With either Ginger or Coconut Sugar to match
In addition, there are black bean soy milk which are most recommended for the customers which you could add in grass jelly. Lastly, don't miss this whenever you are in Ipoh due to my friend who don't eat Tau Fu Fa had this and love it so much.

Last but not least, 2 days 1 night trip ended so quickly where we need to return KL for work tomorrow. We then drop by to Kampar for famous Curry Chicken Bread in Yau Kee Restaurant. There are two choices of chicken bread in either curry or herbal type. Small size are in the price of RM 32 and RM 50 (big).
This restaurant have been tourist attraction and many travel agency will bring the tourists to gain a try. Each of the customers will take away home after the meal which you couldn't believe it.
