Singapore Trip - Part II

Singapore Universal Studios (USS).

A guide for you to get the fun inside the Universal Studios. This guide is helpful for the traveler who decided to pay for a visit in Universal Studios as tourists is travel in limited time. Unlike, the local who can purchased the annual pass that worth the penny. The entrance fees are $74 for adults, $54 for children ages 4 - 12 and $36 for senior citizen (ages 60 and above).

The whole Universal Studios Singapore is divided into 7 zones such as Hollywood, New York, The Lost World, Far Far Away, Madagascar, Ancient Egypt and Sc-Fi City. For the first time traveler, where should be aiming to after the entrance? My advise is to walk straight to Hollywood street and plan your techniques by going the most long waiting queued rides such as Transformer the ride, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, Revenge of the Mummy, and etc.

On the other hand, most of the extreme ride is advise to store your personal belongings in the lockers that located in close proximity to those attractions you are queuing for. Or else, left your bags to your friends or family members who do not want the ride. As the precautions step, it advised to take your own personal safety to avoid any injury happen.

Firstly, I have noticed the Transformer Ride could be existed when the year I visited the Universal Studios Hollywood. However, after few years I got the news from Universal Studios Singapore who officially be the first Transformer ride in 2011. It was hot and packed with Transformer fans who came all the way to Universal Studios Singapore to take this Transformer 3D dark ride. Simultaneously, this ride opened in the Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida.

After the Transformer ride, then you will head to the top most well-known ride in Universal Studios Singapore. Many people have been awaiting the Battlestar Galactica rollercoaster when it started the business but sometimes remain closed for safety inspections. The two duelling rollercoasters, dubbed Human and Cylon, are 42.5m high and billed as the tallest of its kind in the world. The Cylon suspended coaster goes up, around and upside down with intense corkscrews and cobra rolls, while the Human seated coaster zooms at speeds of 90km/h and propels you over fourteen storeys into the air! So, test your guts by experiencing these both rides. If you have heart attack, expectant mother or other sickness, please avoid this extreme ride.

Further, the most popular ride in the Ancient Egypt would be Revenge of the Mummy, which is depicted in the blockbuster film - The Mummy. Plunge into total darkness on this indoor roller coaster as you come face to face with warrior mummies and scarab beetles. It was one of the most favourite ride by the traveler. Consequently, this ride offer single-ride which means you can avoid the long queue (sometimes) and get in the ride faster without any companion. This single-ride opportunities normally appear to those long queued ride in Universal Studios Singapore.

The second rides in Ancient Egypt was Treasure Hunters where children can drive their own desert jeep through an abandoned Egyptian excavation site. It is a friendly kids ride that suit to family members. However, it wasn't the ride for teenagers or adults as you will be walk faster than the ride. ~hehe...

The Mummy

In addition, you will walk into The Lost World zones that divided into two themed areas: Jurassic Park and WaterWorld. This zone is for fans of the two blockbuster movies, as they can experience a dense tropical forest where dinosaurs lurk, then watch death defying stunts filled with thrills and spills! If you are first time visiting, then seat down and watch the live water show before going next rides because you got the time to change your plans. Either walking out the USS for lunch or dining inside the amusement park. For same day re-admission, you must present your Studio admission ticket and hand stamp for re-entry.

Then, definitely going lunch inside the theme park. Your kids will be happy to see the Woody Woodpecker lunchbox. My lunch experience in the amusement park was to search the turkey leg where they offer a very nice and huge turkey but sometimes doesn't. Otherwise, it will be a light snack like hot dog, burgers, sandwiches, or Asian meals. But, if you feel like eating outside the USS, then visit the Malaysian Food Street on your right after exit.

Is the time for magical time as you have reach the Far Far Away zone. The most popular attraction are Shrek 4-D adventure. You'll see, hear and FEEL the action right from your seat as you join Princess Fiona & Shrek in a fairytale adventure. A complete experience with jumps, bumps, bounces, air blasts and water spray that bring the action to life for each guest- with an extra dimension of special effects through the miracle of OgreVision glasses. There is another junior roller coaster (Enchanted Airways) that suitable for children between 92cm and 122cm with a supervising companion.

Tips: It also the best location for group pictures as a memories in the Far Far Away castle.

Last but not least, the Madagascar Town. Based on the hit DreamWorks Animation film, Madagascar, this zone brings you to a dense tropical jungle, filled with strange and wonderful animals like lemurs and foosas. The King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round is a crazy carousel ride with King Julien, the Lemurs and more of your favourite Madagascar characters. While, Madagascar: A Crate Adventure is an unforgettable river boat ride with the four heroes, Alex, Marty, Metman and Gloria. These both rides are most recommended for all.

When entering the New York zone, visit the Lights, Camera, Action! Be blown away by incredible special effects as an empty soundstage becomes the setting for a Category 5 major hurricane about to hit New York City. As you stand in a boathouse by the harbor, watch how a calm day suddenly turns stormy. Brace yourself as hurricane-force winds sweep in from the sea and drive a cargo ship and debris towards the boathouse you’re in. Calm soon returns and the damaged boathouse restores itself, all thanks to movie magic. Lastly, you will realize how this film making was actually make.

Finally, back to the Hollywood street to grab your last souvenirs before leaving. This is the techniques to visit the Universal Studios no matter in Singapore, Orlando or Osaka. Although sometimes might missed the ride as their is really packed and I have visited Universal Studios Singapore for almost three times if I'm not mistaken. Among all, I prefer the Universal Studios Osaka where they offer the booklet ticket which consists of the most top attraction rides that shouldn't be missed.
